
The goal of the Spartan Series is to allow shooters to participate in a well-designed multi stop event to compete within their NSCA class for cash payouts and other prizes. The Spartan Series will consist of three stops at three different shooting clubs spread out across the state of Michigan. For 2023, the host clubs will include, Kent County Conservation League in Ada, John A. Halter Center in Hillsdale & Detroit Gun Club in Commerce. Each club will host two qualifying main events. 100 Target Sporting Clays & 50 Target 5-Stand Main Event. Shooters will collect series points based on their individual score in each event. Your NSCA class at the beginning of the Spartan Series will be your class throughout the entire series, regardless of advancement in NSCA class at other NSCA registered events that you participate in. Your overall score in your class will be based on your individual performance in the 100 Target Sporting & 50-target 5-stand main event at each series stop. Spartan Series Sporting Clays 100 target main event – $100.00 per series stop. $35 of your entry per Series Stop will be placed into the Sporting Clays Main Event Pool for the end of series class payout. $15 of your entry per Series Stop will be paced into the 5-Stand Main Event Pool for the end of series class payout. FOR A COMPETITOR TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SPORTING CLAYS END OF YEAR PAYOUT, THE COMPETITOR MUST COMPLETE ALL THREE 100 TARGET MAIN EVENTS. FOR A COMPETITOR TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE 5-STAND END OF YEAR PAYOUT, THE COMPETITOR MUST COMPLETE ALL THREE 50 TARGET MAIN EVENTS. End of series class payout structure is listed below. 1st – 60% 2nd – 30% 3rd – 10% Last Place – Flat of Ammunition Additional giveaways & raffles will be available during each series stop. Side events will be available for cash prizes throughout the duration of each event.
**For those who choose not to participate in all three events, you are still encouraged to attend. This is an NSCA event, therefore punches will still be awarded, however you will not be eligible for the end of series payout**
Stop #1 of the 2023 Spartan Series kicks off at Kent County Conservation League (KCCL) in Ada, Michigan on May 13th, 2023. KCCL is one of Western Michigan’s most prestigious venues. Known for its beautiful, wooded terrain, KCCL has a Sporting Clays course that is nearly unmatched. KCCL hosts various NSCA registered events throughout the year. Stop #2 of the 2023 Spartan Series makes its way to the John Anthony Halter Center in Hillsdale, Michigan on July 29th, 2023.

Stop #3 of the 2023 Spartan Series makes final stop to Detroit Gun Club in Commerce, Michigan on September 23rd, 2023.
The Detroit Gun Club (DGC) has been at its current location since 1953. DGC is without a doubt, one of the finest skeet and sporting clays shooting facilities in the country. DGC has 8 registered skeet fields, 8 registered trap fields, 2 8-machine 5-stands, and a 14 station (4 machines per station sporting clay course).
